Essential Oils Are Not Recommended for Use for the Following Conditions
Pregnancy: We do not recommend the use of Essential oils during
pregnancy. Some oils should be avoided during the first 3 months of pregnancy and some essential
oils should not be used at all.
Before purchase/use we suggest you review product information and/or seek the assistance from a
qualified health professional.
Epilepsy: some essential oils are not suitable for individuals with this
condition. Before purchase/use we suggest you review product information and/or seek the assistance
from a qualified health professional.
Orally: We do not recommend oral use of essential oils.
Sensitive skin: Caution is required when using essential oils as skin
irritation can occur in some individuals. We recommend application of a test patch (dab a small
amount of diluted essential oil behind the ear, leave for 10 minutes) if you are using an essential
oil for the first time.
Photosensitivity: Some essential oils (especially the citrus family)
should not be used before exposure to the sun, as the skin is easily burned.
High and low blood pressure: Individuals with either of these conditions
should review product information and/or seek the assistance from a qualified health professional
before purchase/use.
Storage of Essential Oils
Essential oils should be kept in dark coloured bottles, ensuring the cap is replaced after use.
Store under 30°C. Keep bottle in a cool dry, dark area. Heat and direct sunlight will affect
the shelf life of your oil. Expired oils can be used to scent a room or for household cleaning but
will have no efficacy. |
